True story

As a club we often visit popular riding destinations like North Wales, South Wales, the Peak District, Lake District and trail centres across the land. On this occasion we were visiting Cannock Chase – a favourite of ours. A rider was running late and sadly missed the start of the ride. As we often have large groups and everyone has different timetables and availability, after waiting a few minutes we simply had to depart to get back on time. Roughly 25 minutes into the ride, someone said, "is that one of ours?" We all peered across the valley to see a sharp red and blue jersey sprinting along the trail towards us. John was able to see our colours in the distance, we saw him and with a timely water break we were all able to proceed together. It was a great ride. Club colours go a long way. Across mountains and valleys apparently! The end.
